@Christy Lee
Hahaha. Now you also want to pull my leg is it? I mentioned I was just joking mah. All highlighted in red and identified with <joke> ... </joke>.

Ads alerts? Hmmm...unless my memory is failing me, I have never heard him saying that before. Of course, he could have added it just for the interview, you know, it makes the name sound "better".

Actually, sometimes I wished that I have an "editor". At least the pros of having one lah...I don't want the cons. LOL. I can just submit my post and have him/her check it. That way, I can go to the limit without going overboard. Better still, if got problem, blame him/her lah. (S)he passed it.

I know the work of a journalist is tough. Everything needs to be 101% accurate. Unlike blogs where we can edit them after publishing, it's really quite impossible for a journalist. So, the "inaccuracy" really isn't your fault. Since you mentioned that you checked it before you submitted the article.

On the contrary, I am actually quite interested in the works of a journalist. Got time to be my sifu? Haha.

@Freethinker
Yeah loh. My next target is to get someone from the government to comment in my blog. I hope it won't be from the ISA lah. Hahaha. Errr...ISA is government body right? (just joking)

Kelwin -- how I know you wanted to be featured la? you never say oso -_-

Anyways, about the Advertlets name... Josh told me in an interview that it was ads alerts as well as ads applets. Either ways it's a good name. I have the quote in handwriting in my paper notebook.

Aih...

It's normal for reporters to collect a tonne of information (they should anyway) during research. The hard part comes in putting everything together to make it easy to read on print for the general public (which is my target audience). Of course, I cannot include everything -- because even if I wanted to, the sub-editors and editors would chop it (and they'd probably chop my head off as well :P). I have good reasons behind why I include such and such info (based on many factors that a journalist must take into account when writing that blog ad article for print), but I would not bore you with the details.

I don't know why I should even bother explaining myself since people will always question how someone does his/her job, but how can someone just keep quiet when there are others who question his/her professional integrity?

I suppose I'll say this a final time:

Do know that I take great care when I write -- whenever I have the smallest doubt, I would double- and triple-check my facts before I proceed. Do know that what you read is not entirely what I want to say (for most of the time). There's always a lot more behind whatever we reporters write, but for many reasons we cannot include just about everything we come across (long articles = dead boring).

The purpose of my blog ad article was to inform readers (the general public mainly) about blog ads and some of its issues in Malaysia -- and not to take sides with anyone. That is not my choice to make, but my readers.

And if you have doubts about what I say, maybe you could attempt to research and write an article like that for print (while having to endure a major car accident, time constraints, a tonne of other work and other snafus at the same time -- umm, I'll spare the details)....

... and maybe then you'd understand a little about how I feel.

Sorry if I sound upset. I'm not angry, really -- I understand people always have good reasons behind whatever they do. But know that I do as well.

Sincerely,
Christy Lee

@HORNY ANG MOH
LOL. H-A-M, no, I am NOT Nuffnang's featured blogger for July. It was just a joke.

I notice seeing less banner ads served to the normal blogs that I visit as well. However, I did bump into some blogs that I rarely visit that are being served ads. I think I saw MPH and that Penang food court ad. Maybe Nuffnang is serving ads to the other bloggers that were not served before.

They are coming up with CPC ads this weekend. By then, I'm sure you can see ads served all around. Keeping my fingers crossed :-)

@Freethinker
I believe there are many out there who doesn't know the real "history" of what has happened. Then again, even if they do know, does it make a difference? I've said this a million times -- it's all about the money, no?

@Mossie`Ol Chin
If only they can be enlightened.

I saw the funniest thing today !!!! I saw an advertlets review from a blogger and one of the seller was that : they need ZERO requirements against the "competitor"'s 20 !!!

Man...not only mainstream paper provide me laughter...

I guess my assumption of the "growth rate" of loyalist is happening faster than I thought...
