As predicted, I slept throughout the entire 6 hours journey to JB. I woke up only to pee and to have some light snack. One of the stops I visited has this funky looking “garden” that leads to the toilet.

Before I left, I snapped a few photos of some flowers found around the place.

Upon reaching JB’s bus station, my family head straight to a nearby McDonald’s to get some food. We sat at two separate tables with our bags occupying half of the seats and tables while waiting for my aunty to pick us up. She joined us soon after that. After finishing our food, we went to buy some otak-otak from a stall in the bus station itself. If I remembered correctly, it was RM4 for 10 otak-otaks. There were 20 there, so we bought all of them.
After going through the customs, changing buses a couple of times, sat a 30 minutes MRT ride and another bus ride, we finally reached my auntie’s flat/apartment. On the way up in the lift, I saw a sign that says, “Armed with Urine Detection Device (UDD)” with a picture of a camera above it. I wonder how the UDD works. Does it activate and start snapping pictures after sensing the presence of urea?

After a long and tiring day travelling, the only sensible way to “heal” the body is to eat. I started off with the otak-otak that I bought earlier. It is really tasty but my uncle cautioned that the “redness” it has could be due to colourings and is bad to health.

My aunty surprised us with satay for dinner. She prepared the table and divided the satay sauce. Then, out came two plastic bags filled with satay. There were more waiting for us in the kitchen. The 10 of us had 200 sticks of satay to share. I must have eaten at least 30 sticks or more. There were some leftovers that night.

After dinner and taking a bath, we took a 10-15 minutes bus ride to one of the malls to buy some stuff. My brother bought a packet of Nescafe 3-in-1 Intense. The packaging is black and you can’t find it in Malaysia yet.
After that, we had supper at a food court opposite the mall. Vegetable dishes cost SGD4.80 while meat dishes cost SGD6.00 per platter. That’s quite cheap if you don’t convert them back to RM

After supper, my uncle suggested we walk home. According to him, it’s not far from there. We ended up walking for 30-60 minutes before reaching home. We did stop and rest a couple of times. Along the way, I saw many others jogging and rollerblading on the streets and in the park that we walked through. There was even one guy who was jogging topless on the streets. That’s a strange sight for me.
Lesson of the day — never trust a Singaporean when it comes to “walking distance”. A 5km walk can easily be considered “near”.
The next day, we had a buffet lunch with my cousin’s in-laws. More photos coming up.

Nice foods! huhu..Never been in singapore..Glad to see you back..
We Singaporean used to walk, walk and walk, as car is expensive here, so walking 30 min is a norm for most of us lah.
The food look good, but taste nice or not huh?

Hmm…I wonder if you ‘accidentally’ spill hot water on the floor, will the UDD take picture? It must the only way to detect?? Thru temperature..??? Singaporeans so dirty one ah??? Pee in the lift?????
HHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAH!!!!
@Bat
Yeah, very tasty. Thanks.
@hanneng
.
Yeah, that’s what I noticed as well. The food taste as good (if not better) than how it looks
@Emily
Thanks for your interest in my posts. I’ve checked the website. Apart from the possibility of making some money (if my content is really good), I don’t see any other way being a Rafter could possibly bring in traffic or attention to my blog.
@HORNY ANG MOH
Thanks horny. The satay really good. It’s one of the best I’ve tasted — meaty, burned to the correct degree without overburning, sauce as good as ever.
@mott
Before I risk myself being flamed by other Singaporean bloggers/readers…I was just joking with the UDD thingy. I think the UDD is just a video camera in the lift. It must be just a normal video camera, like the ones we have without sensors actually detecting urine. At least that’s what I think. Hehe.
The lift was actually very clean. There was a smell in the lift though, not smelly but more like a sweet kind of smell. Maybe it’s the thing used to clean the lift.
I like the white flower. What is it; lily?
@Zul
Not sure what’s it called. I don’t think it’s a lily.
