Lately, it seems like the government is going after bloggers — suing, detain for questioning, childish name calling, etc. I consider myself being kind to say that they are just finding fault with bloggers (and not very good at it too). I used to think that they were probably just targeting socio-political bloggers only. Since I am not in that “category” of bloggers, I thought I should be safe.

I was wrong.

They are even going after bloggers who have seditious comments in their blog left by a third party. In my opinion, they should track down the person who commented using the IP address logged instead of detaining the blog owner. Don’t they know how the Internet works?

Anyway, I am listening to Kamigoroshi’s advice to put up a blog policy or a disclaimer for my blog. However, I doubt any disclaimer will be strong enough to ward off all “attacks”. If someone wants to get you, they’ll get you one way or another. Bah!

    Blog policy is never enough. if the Malaysia minister want to take action against you, they can find 100001 reason to lock you up.

  3. Freethinker says:

    Given all the arrest, it’s unlikely would be done on any non political bloggers or the ones that let emotion go off easily. Without a compelling reason, making another pointless arrest will anger the public. Not a strategic move.

    Plus, like Raffles said, if they wanna take action, these policy means nothing since RPK had used the same reason too

    The truth is, you don’t need to have dozens of comments per post to be vulnerable. If you’re unlucky, some punk may just enter your blog, sabotage you by leaving a seditious comment and boom! You’re it.

    @Raffles
    Yup, as I mentioned in my last paragraph. If they want to get you, they’ll find one way or another.

    Suanie wrote received a comment in a post at monsterblog and someone else said it was seditious and has copied and faxed it to someone to take actions…bla bla. Whether they take actions or not, I have no idea. Everything they’re doing has a political agenda in it. Blardy bargeerssss.
