I was at a Chinese restaurant this morning and I overheard a conversation between some older folks. One man footed the bill because he won lottery a couple days ago. He was proudly telling the others how he got his 4 lucky digits that won him the price money. Unfortunately, it has to come from a unfortunate guy who was involved in a car accident.
It is too common that people slow down and look when there is an accident. This “phenomenon” is due to the busybody nature of some while others are there to identify the number plates of the cars so that they can buy lottery with it. Even though their actions do not harm the victims in any ways, isn’t it morally wrong (or whatever you call it) to be cashing in on other’s misfortune?
Would you have done such a thing? If you saw an accident and was able to get the number plates of the car and somehow you have a strong feeling that that number will win you big money, will you buy the lottery?
