I did read somewhere that there's gotta be a little egg white left in the shells. Mine seems to be working. No ants too

Egg shell content a sulfur. Sulfur is very harmful to the lizard. This is because their abdomen have pores, so when they get near to sulfur it will getting dry and sometimes it will burn itself. These also will answer why they afraid of beak animals such as bird. Their beaks also content sulfur. The lizard will sense the odor which a human being cannot smell it.

some say its the inside substance of the egg shells that repels lizards..i dont think small holes that you made were big enough..the best way would be to 'cut' the whole egg shell into halves..n its okay to rinse them..but not to wash them thoroughly..the chemical substance might be washed off..n of coz u would have to change the egg shells occasionally..once a week or once a fortnight would be fine..

Those are not hard boiled eggs. We broke the tip of the eggs and "drained" all the contents out. Of course, it was washed before we placed it there. We don't want trouble with the ants! LOL.

Well, you are focusing only on one of the senses lizards have got i.e. sight. Lizards may not like the smell of eggs!
I think you should place hollow egg shells there. It is highly probable that the odour of eggs drives lizards away. Don't use hardboiled egg shells as they have no odour.

@lazyfellow
LOL. Not sure if lizards can be blind or not. I think it is either the gap in the window is too small for birds to fly in or lizards are not afraid of chicken egg shells. Maybe it just didn't work in my situation but will work in others? I not sure.
