“Newbie” Police Officers Vs. Malaysian Bar

If the perception I have on the police force isn’t bad enough, the latest report on Malaysiakini successfully pushed it over the edge for me. The Malaysian Bar Council greeted three (unprepared) police officers today. They were supposedly there to question council president Ambiga Sreenevasan, vice-president Ragunath Kesavan and secretary Lim Chee Wee regarding the “Walk for Justice” held a few weeks ago.

Instead of getting a statement from the trio, the police officers returned empty handed but not before being smacked in the face for not having enough information in their hands. They are up against Bar members for goodness sakes, not some teenage blogger or something. Shouldn’t they be more prepared? Maybe they are on their first day of duty?

One thing that I do not understand is why are the police investigating and interviewing the wrong people? All this mess is due to the Lingam tape that was widely spread and talked about not too long ago. I am still completely clueless as to what the 3 members “independent” panel’s actual duty is. How long does it take to verify the authentication of a video clip? In fact, I wonder if they have even started analyzing the video clip.

If anything, I have (almost) completely lost confidence in some things in the country. For one, I better not get myself in trouble with the wrong group of people. Or else, I might as well just “sit back and enjoy the ride”.

That’s the problem. They are not there to tokkok with kids. They should be at least more prepared. Like that malu only.

Yeah la. Sometimes better not get ourselves in trouble. Just stay behind the scenes and watch the show.
