I have been looking for a camera shop in Kuantan that can give me a good price for the Nikon D40x that I am aiming for. The normal price I am quoted is RM2,899. When I was at PJ yesterday, I went to the Digital Mall at Seksyen 14 and found a shop that quoted me RM2,700. That is RM200 cheaper and I haven’t even bargained further. I asked if they will offer me any free items together with the purchase and they quickly agreed on a 2GB memory card, a tripod and a Nikon sling bag.
It is almost as if they will give me whatever I wanted (not expensive items of course). It feels like they are more desperate in selling the item to me than I want to buy it. I wonder what the catch is. They have four to six units available. At that time, I thought that they just wanted to sell it off to get some cash flow.
Boy, was I wrong.
I did a quick search and found that the Nikon D40x Kit was selling at RM2,550 in April. A later post in July revealed that it only costs RM2,350. No wonder the guy at the shop was so eager to sell it to me at RM2,700 with “anything else that I wanted”.
Do you know how much a Nikon D40x Kit costs right now? Is there a catch to it? Do all Nikon digital cameras come with a 1 year International warranty?

No post from me yesterday because I was on a “one day trip” to KL. Went out at 7 in the morning and only got home at 12 midnight. After bathing, getting my daily online “fix”, replying to emails and comments, I am feeling tired and lazy to blog. Can’t blame me since it is already 3.50am now.
I wonder if there is such a medical condition called “sleep-blogging”?

I just realized that October is breast cancer awareness month after reading that Pelf is going pink. She even changed her theme to pink. What the Pink for October website and the others joining this movement are doing is to raise awareness to the public regarding breast cancer.
How can you help?
According to the info in Pelf’s post, you can do either one (or more) of these:
- Go pink. Wear pink clothes. If you are blogging, change or modify your current theme to a pink theme. Wear a pink ribbon. Etc etc etc.
- Design badges and banners. Many others have helped designed pretty Go Pink! badges for others to download and include in their blog. I am using one of them too.
- Design blog themes. If you are good at designing or modifying blog themes, do it! Not only are you helping to spread the message, you will be getting tons of back links when people start using your theme. A win-win situation is what I see.
- Help spread the word. If you really can’t do any of those above, just help by writing a post to spread the message across.
What am I doing to help?
Well, I can’t imagine myself turning my blog pink. LOL. I am really sorry but I don’t think I can. So, the next best thing would be to (1) include a Go Pink for October badge in my blog and (2) write a post to help spread the message.
I believe these campaigns are a good way for bloggers to give back to the society. I manage to raise over $400 for MAKNA previously when I joined Blogathon 2007 a few months back. It was an exciting journey.
Go pink and help make a difference.

Have you ever written a letter to God? Maybe your kid has? I wonder what is the right thing to do after someone has written a letter to God. Do they post it? If so, where to? Or do they sealed it up in an envelope and place it some where safe until someone finds it later and open it up to read?
I received a forwarded email last night that contained photos of kid’s letters to God. After reading through all of them, you can’t help but to notice the innocence of these little kids. I selected a few to share it with you guys.

God’s creations should be perfect. However, this cheeky little devil raised a smart question that would probably make God think twice before answering. Was the giraffe an accident?

The little kid who thinks he can make a deal with God. He may just grow up to be the next Donald Trump.

The kid that got something else apart from what he wanted.
It is fun to be able to know what kids are thinking. They are so naive and pure, only to be “polluted” by the world as they grow up.

I read someone’s blog some time ago (forgotten who) on how he/she managed to have a lizard free room simply by placing an empty egg shell in the room. I was skeptical at first. I wondered if it involved some kind of jampi. Anyway, I told my mom about it and she placed two empty chicken egg shells at the toilet’s window where there used to be lizards all the time.
It has been two days and I have not seen any lizards around there ever since. I really wonder if this method really works. If it really does work, why are lizards afraid of chicken egg shells?
I thought for a while and came up with a possible reason. Those egg shells may look like bird’s eggs. Lizards should be afraid of birds, since I wouldn’t mind feasting on lizards if I were a bird. Therefore, lizards will run and hide when they see an egg, thinking that it could be a bird’s egg.
The eggs were only placed there for two days and this cannot be used as a strong proof that lizards are afraid of eggs. Anyway, I may try placing a few eggs at other places known to be popular lizard hangout places such as the kitchen, garage and occasionally my room. If no more lizards are seen after that, I may conclude that lizards are afraid of “empty chicken egg shells”.
Sounds like a science project to me. LOL. Have you tried or heard a similar story in the past? What are your findings?
Added: Seems like peacock feathers may scare lizards away as well. Does that strengthen my suggestion that lizards stay away because they thought that there are birds nearby?
