One of the methods to transfer funds to MAKNA is through Maybank2U. Some people encountered problem in the middle of the process and were unable to proceed. With this guide, I hope that such problems will not occur.

Step 1: Login to your Maybank2U account. Select the Online Bill Payment –> Open Payment option.

Step 2: Select Zakat and Charity from the Payee Category list.

Step 3: Select MAKNA from the Corporation Name list.

Step 4: Here is where most people encountered problem. It is stated that you should not use a “space” in the Donor Name and Contact No/Reference ID field. Therefore, “ChanKelwin” is valid but “Chan Kelwin” is not. Insert the amount you want to transfer.

Step 5: Request for a TAC number and insert it into the form.

I slept for 9 hours last night but woke up feeling like I haven’t slept in days. LOL. Again, thanks to those who have pledged. I’ve received a few emails asking how the pledge can be fulfilled. According to Blogathon’s post:

Remember, you still have 48 hours to let people pledge. Sponsor reminders will go out after that.

So, people still can pledge up to 48 hours after it ended. You guys should be receiving the reminders after that. Anyway, here is MAKNA’s donation page. You guys can check out their donation options. There are online and offline options available.

To those that do not have credit/debit card or cheques, you may donate through phone. I’m not sure how it works. Maybe they charge your phone bill? Anyway, you’ll need to give them a call at 03-4256 9178 from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm to sort things out.

The 24 hours experience was almost magical. Now that it is over, everything will be back to normal. This post was written under 30 minutes. Thankfully, there isn’t another post to write within the next 30 minutes. LOL.

I also don’t know what to write here. Can I just publish this and sign off? hehehehe. okok, serious talk.

It has been a tiring but fun experience. I didn’t expect to be able to raise almost USD500 in pledges. Now that I’ve *sort of* finished this blogathon, I hope you are satisfied with my “performance” and will honour your pledges. Which reminds me of the earlier scare I had, thinking that I was dropped off blogathon.

Thanks to those who has helped to spread the message. Not forgetting those who came in and supported me “blog-rally” from time to time. If it wasn’t for you guys commenting, I would have dozed off half way through.

Instead of doing another lousy post (like the last few posts, or maybe all my posts are lousy? LOL) and make you guys read garbage, I’ve decided to dedicated this 48th out of 49 posts to thank all those who have pledged and sponsored MAKNA. So far, USD491.25 has been pledged to MAKNA.

Firstly, it is stated that there are 16 pledges but in the list there are 17 sponsors. The reason for that is that two people combined their money into one pledge. Therefore, the “extra person”. If I’ve missed out any names or I’ve made any mistakes on the list (Name, URL, etc), please leave a comment.

A taxi driver in the Philippines found a bag containing $17,000 in cash that was left by his customer one day. His wife was in the hospital and his house rental was overdue. Instead of keeping the cash, or at least part of it, he went to the nearest police station and passed it to the police station.

At the same time, his customer was just making a police report when they met. The bag was returned to the owner and the customer gave the taxi driver $32 as a reward.

My question is, “Was he being too honest, or just a bit foolish?”

If he were to keep the bag, he could have paid off his rent and his wife’s medical fees. However, what happens if he got caught?

On the other hand, it’s $17,000! That amount of money is equivalent to several years of his pay as a taxi driver.
