Interesting findings all around the web and world.

Solving the rubik's cubeI tried solving the Rubik’s Cube when I was in my early teens. I have to admit that I wasn’t very good at it. I did manage to solve it a couple of times although it took me all night to do it. How did I do it?

Well, there was a paper with the instructions in it that came together with cube. I positioned the Rubik’s Cube as it was in the diagram and followed the steps provided. That means I was looking at the piece of paper the whole time without actually looking at the cube. That is why I don’t even know how it was done.

I saw this YouTube video on how some people manage to solve the Rubik’s Cube in seconds! I am simply amazed. Just look at how fast they turn the damn thing. I could never turn it fast enough because if I don’t turn it precise enough, the next turn will be “stucked”.

Have you tried solving the Rubik’s Cube? Did you succeed? What is your average speed taken to solve it?

Here are some tips and solution to solve the Rubik’s Cube.

I couldn’t believe my eyes. Lewis Hamilton could have sealed the driver’s championship in the Chinese GP. Instead, he didn’t even finish the race after his McLaren was beached at the gravel trap right before the pit entrance.

If my memory do not fail me (lack of sleep), his tires were so worn out that he was driving a few seconds slower than Alonso for at least 2 to 3 laps. Why didn’t his team call him in for a tire change? There were others who have pitted a few laps earlier to change onto dry tires. They could have done the same thing but they didn’t. When Hamilton finally headed towards the pits, it was already too late.

I have no idea whose fault this is — the McLaren team or Hamilton’s. Hamilton had a 12 point lead ahead of Alonso. He didn’t even need to win this GP to win the driver’s championship. Winning the driver’s championship in style is not everything. What matters is to win it. If Hamilton fails to become the world championship in the Brazilian GP in two weeks time, he has no one to blame except himself.

I have my own predictions and speculations on who will win the driver’s championship and why. I am too tired to blog about that now. If you are interested, stay tuned.

Earlier this week, I was experimenting on whether lizards are afraid of eggs. I observed for a few days and was quite disappointed with what I saw. I finally decided to take a photo and conclude this experiment.

Are lizards afraid of eggs?

Lizards appear even when there are two empty egg shells around

Look at that photo and answer that question yourself. However, I cannot say for certain that the “egg trick” doesn’t work on lizards. I have read others saying that it did work for them. The reason it didn’t work in my case could be due to some “unknown factors”.

What could have caused this experiment to fail?

  1. The lizards did not see the eggs.
  2. The lizards didn’t know those were eggs (bird/chicken).
  3. The lizards dare to fight back and maybe even bite any birds that may fly by.
  4. The lizards are smart enough to know that birds cannot enter through the small opening in the window.

Conclusion

I can’t say for certain that lizards dare not appear in places where you put an empty egg shell. It did not work for me but it could have or could still work for you.

If you have tried it before, did it work for you? If you haven’t, would you please try it and share with me if it worked? Thanks.

Lewis Hamilton’s win in the Japanese GP was under investigation due to new video evidence. The video was recorded by a spectator at the trackside and was uploaded onto YouTube. The video was taken down after the Formula One Management has claimed ownership rights over the video. It is strange that hundreds, maybe thousands of other Formula 1 videos on YouTube are left alone but only this particular recording was taken down.

If Hamilton were to be penalized, he could see himself losing 10 places at the start of the Chinese GP. Even then, he should be able to score some points in the race thus maintaining a handful of points ahead of Alonso into the final GP.

Hamilton has been cleared of any penalty. There are two races left and he is 12 points in the lead. Has he done enough? He could still lose it in the final two GPs. We’ll see.

Car advertising www.3000.com.my

When I was in KL the other day, there was this car ahead of me that had this sticker on its screen. It was advertising the website www.3000.com.my. It caught my attention and I reminded myself to review it in my Technology Blog once I get home. Unfortunately, the only thing that I saw after entering the website was a Plesk default page indicating that there is a configuration problem with the domain name.

Car advertising www.3000.com.my (close up)

A close up on the photo above reveals that the website is an e-shopping website that was selling stationery, sundry goods, office equipments and many more. This is a good way to advertise a website for a minimal fee. I wonder if I should advertise my blogs the same way.

Maybe I should design a custom baseball cap with my new blog — Vocal Junkie dot Com — written on it.
