I got an SMS spam on my Hotlink number about a week ago. Exactly seven days later, I got another SMS spam again. I hope I don’t get another one seven days later. The SMS was sent from the number 01425376XX. It has the same 0142 prefix.

Hi Jason! u lupa download my hot hot movie clip? Cepat cepat hantar ON HIT ke 369XX sekarang.
I don’t know the rule/law of sending such an SMS. From what I (think I) know, they must include how much each SMS will cost within the SMS itself. Both SMSes that I got did not display this information.
Furthermore, I am not sure if this “pretend to be your friend” trick can be used. At least they got my name wrongly. Can you imagine getting SMSes like the one below in the future?
Yo dude! Why didn’t you turn up for my wedding? Send ON SORRY to 369XX now to apologize.

It has been raining cats and dogs for the past few days. It only pours in the evenings though. Lightning and thunderstorm is there to accompany the downpour. This can only mean one thing.
Monsoon is near, if not already here.
Just a little update on my Streamyx (so called) broadband connection. It has been really bad for the past few days. Google related websites are loading slowly, very slowly. I thought TM Net upgraded their services a while ago? I had quite a fast Streamyx connection back then for a week or two. Now it is worse than before.

There is a saying in Malay that goes, “Jatuh Ditimpa Tangga”. I think it means bad things happen when you are already in a troubled situation.
I can’t help but to feel how true this is. When I started blogging, I was smacked by some things that I wrote. I was already very troubled. I tried asking for advice and help around. As if I was not having enough trouble already, some [noun] started a controversy using my nick.
Yesterday, I got two of my PPP posts rejected due to some things (I believe) are not even written in their TOS. That troubled me a little but as if it wasn’t bad enough, my technology blog got smacked by the Big G. I am a little surprised but I know that I shouldn’t.
There will be some changes and mass edit of some of my posts in the coming days. One thing that is bound to change is the disclosure policy. I suspect some/most bloggers that got smacked by the Big G is due to the way they disclose their sponsored posts. I can’t be sure but something has to be changed.
Some extra “icing” for my situation — I received yet another junk SMS. KNS! That post will come up later. I am extremely tired now. I only slept for like two hours last night.
I haven’t replied to some comments in both my blogs. I am sorry. I will reply them when I wake up later and feel more refreshed. *sigh*

If the perception I have on the police force isn’t bad enough, the latest report on Malaysiakini successfully pushed it over the edge for me. The Malaysian Bar Council greeted three (unprepared) police officers today. They were supposedly there to question council president Ambiga Sreenevasan, vice-president Ragunath Kesavan and secretary Lim Chee Wee regarding the “Walk for Justice” held a few weeks ago.
Instead of getting a statement from the trio, the police officers returned empty handed but not before being smacked in the face for not having enough information in their hands. They are up against Bar members for goodness sakes, not some teenage blogger or something. Shouldn’t they be more prepared? Maybe they are on their first day of duty?
One thing that I do not understand is why are the police investigating and interviewing the wrong people? All this mess is due to the Lingam tape that was widely spread and talked about not too long ago. I am still completely clueless as to what the 3 members “independent” panel’s actual duty is. How long does it take to verify the authentication of a video clip? In fact, I wonder if they have even started analyzing the video clip.
If anything, I have (almost) completely lost confidence in some things in the country. For one, I better not get myself in trouble with the wrong group of people. Or else, I might as well just “sit back and enjoy the ride”.

When I read Jys’ post that she heard stories that the Genting founder had died, I thought it was just some sick joke that people are passing around. However, when I saw the link provided to The Star at the end of her post, I realized that it could be real.
According to the news article, Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong passed away today at 11.20am at the Subang Jaya Medical Centre. He migrated from China with only US$175 and has become the third richest man in the country. Without him, Malaysia might not have had a Genting to go to. We would not have had a place to have fun and to win/lose some money at.
May he rest in peace.
